Shakira will be hanging up her trademark hips for a while as she takes a break from her ludicrously successful music career and tries her hand at acting. The Columbian-born megastar is looking to take a long break from writing and recording in favor of trying her hand at acting. The sexy singer is in talks with director Mike Nichols to star in an upcoming film.
She was also reported to be involved with the Alfonso Arau project "Dare to Love Me" though she had to back out due to her grueling tour schedule. With that tour now over, Shakira has time to pursue her acting aspirations.
She recognizes her need for the right director. "Usually singers are good interpreters, but not good actors," she told press, "so you need to get with a good actors' director. I would have to if the day comes when I do acting."
